A quote snagged from the DevBlog:
Quote: Electronic Warfare modules such as ECM Jammers, Tracking Disruptors, Jump Scramblers, Stasis Webifiers and Remote Sensor Dampers have been the specialty of the Gallente Federation since the war between the Gallente and Caldari broke out.
Er how do they figure? Gallente battleships are tied for last place when it cmoes to the number of Mid Slots they have, which anyone will tell you is a key in being effective in EW. They don't have any bonuses when using such equipment. They don't have...ANYTHING to indicate that somehow their ships are better at the use of EW modules.

The highlighted words indicated clearly that Gallente are STILL superior than other races when it comes to EW.
And I don't see how the proposed changes will somehow make Gallente the EW specialists, it will, at best, lessen Caldari dominance in this field...by like 0.0000000001%. Unless they start adding (or taking away) mid slots. Caldari will always be the kings of EW.

Oh yeah I totally agree that they shouldn't nerf Caldari ships.
But, how they figure that Gallentes are the EW specialists is beyond me. Waaaay beyond.

Quote: While they're at it, they should make a category for mining lasers. That way you won't see so many battleships AFK mining in 1.0 space. Make a battleship have zero mining laser slots, and your average indy have 3-4 mining laser slots but no offensive capability and you've solved your problem.
It's off topic but I'll go a round with ya anyway.
If they did what you suggested then all you'd get is a bunch of indies afk mining in 1.0 instead of battleships. Then you have people whining about afk indy mining.

Quote: True. But it's quicker and easier to kill an indy with a kestrel suicide run. They wouldn't be afk for long.
So let's pretend that they made the changes you proposed and allowed indies to have 4 mining lasers.
So you have 4 miner II's with Mining Lv 5, Astrogeology Lv 4, giving you 90 mining amount/minute. With an Iteron V with five Partial Hull expanders it will take you around 32 minutes to fill the indy.
So now, you expect people to stay there and watch for 32 minutes without going afk? No, they will surely look away for at least a brief period of time. So you're gonna do a suicide run at them for that?
If not, how do you judge whether or not someone is afk for the whole 32 minutes or just looking away at the TV for a few minutes because they don't want to stare at a motionless screen for 30 minutes?
The "problem" isn't that simple.

Quote: personally, i think its strange to say that Caldari ships dont need to be nerfed, they are soo obviously over-powerful (relatively)
Are Caldari ships overpowered? When it comes to PVP, yes.
Should they be nerfed? NO.
Why is the solution to unbalance always have to be a nerf? Why can't you just increase other races' abilities? Why are you people so damn nerf-happy?
